Based on the teardown the repairability of the iPhone XS Max is average. It has some positive aspects such as the battery cable and battery being easily accessible pull tabs provided to remove the battery and the screen cable and screen being removable without removing too many components. However it also has some negative aspects such as adhesive used for the back cover and battery pentalobe and triwing screwdrivers needed display needing to be removed first which is a delicate process and several metal brackets covering the connectors needing to be removed.
